I am sorry for this problem but it was not our doing. If you get this corrected I will realign the truck for you if the original installer does not.
I dropped the car off after hours Thursday. On Friday they called and I told them what I wanted done/looked at. (Which was a diagnosis for why my engine light is on and to get the passenger side control arm changed) and they said okay, keep in mind that this call was at 7:30am. At 5:30pm Friday they called me back to inform me they couldn’t figure out the problem and that they would have to call me back on Monday. Monday I decide I want to get the car back so I can have a way to work and when I called to inform them that I was coming to get the car they inform me that they did not change the control arm yet. Told them that was fine and that I just want the car back so I’ll just pay for the diagnosis. after I paid for the diagnosis and they start “putting the car back together” all of a sudden there’s something wrong with the breaks and they are claiming that another shop did not put the correct screws in so it messed up the belt and swore that I needed to get this fixed. Also keep in mind they asked me if I gotten work done on the breaks before and I told them no …. But yet they still blamed another shop anyways ?
Also the service advisor’s answer the phones and have the audacity to have a attitude with you ( the paying customer) because you want to know what services did the technician complete already to which they responded that they don’t know they’ll ask and call me back , I called back 15 minutes later because it doesn’t take that long to ask someone a question especially when they’re on the same premises as you. Moral of the story they didn’t fix anything on Friday when they had 9 hours but on Monday they apparently become miracle workers and fixed the control arm, wheel, alignment and caliper mounting bracket all in three hours which is strange because when you had more than 3 hours you didn’t do anything . If you do go make sure it’s for a service you can sit there and babysit them on.
To answer the first question, what our problem was is that we were super busy that week and weren't able to get to your car, we ran out of time. I am so sorry for that. We were telling people that dropped off that there would be delays and maybe we failed to inform you of that. We understand you need your car and we try our best but failed on this one. When you called Monday we had the technician attempt to put the car back together as he had already started to repair it and that is when we found the bolt on the front brake caliper bracket we the wrong one and would not tighten.
If we make a mistake, we will own up to it but we won't accept some one else's fault or mistake as it's just not fair.
I'm not sure if you are new to this car or just didn't remember but the front brakes were replaced at 171,454 miles (we found that on Carfax report) for this vehicle. Those repairs were not done here at LMC.
We then stated that the brake caliper bracket had to be replaced, being a safety issue, we could not just stick the wrong bolt back in with it being loose like the other place did. We also did not charge any labor for the caliper bracket, just that and the new bolt.
Further we offered and you accepted to get you to work in Bellaire via Lyft Ride Share at no cost to you so that you could at least get to work. That trip cost us $61.00 which we were happy to do to hopefully make it less of an issue for you at least on that part of the problem.
Back to the repair time frame, on Friday, we had not pulled your car in until late that after noon, so when you called on Monday at 7:23 am the conversation ended with you needing to pick the car up so that you could get the work and that it had not been repaired yet.
All phone calls are recorded and this was the only call made and after that you showed up to pick your car up. There was nothing said in the call recording about asking the technician about the car, the service advisor knew the control arm and alignment had not been completed yet. There was no attitude from the service advisor, the only thing from him was confusion at first as he was trying to figure out if someone had called you and told you the car was ready by mistake. After that, the next call was at 10:00 am.
We are very up front with what we do here and we are honest people. We simply cannot accept other shops faults and fix them at our cost as it is not fair. If we make a mistake we will try and right that, that is why we paid the ride share to hopefully help alleviate some of the problem we caused by not getting your car ready in time to go to work.
I hope you give us another chance but if not, thanks for trying us out and we are sorry for your troubles.
Given the unexpectedly high cost for what I had anticipated to be a routine alignment, I opted to explore other options. I located another shop approximately 30 minutes away that offered a complimentary evaluation. Their sales manager quoted a guaranteed price of $650 for the alignment. When I expressed skepticism due to the significant price disparity, he assured me that if they were unable to complete the alignment, I would not be charged.
We are obligated to inform you of what is wrong with your vehicle and if you do not wish to approve the repairs we understand but those issues are still there. I'm sure this other shop did not fix all that for $650 dollars, they may have fixed some of it for that but that means there are still issues wrong with the truck. If you would like to come by we can show you those issues, some were in bad condition. While the vehicle is 24 years old and there are allot of problems but they don't all have to be done at once and we cannot just align the vehicle and say its good knowing it is not.
We do not claim to be the cheapest place in town but we are fair and I assure you that what we said is going on under there is the truth. The $50 charge is waived if we do any parts of the work we suggested, we do this because people would tie up our techs all day with free inspections and go fix it themselves in the driveway. We informed you ahead of time of this charge and you agreed to it. If you would like to look under your vehicle allow us to show you, please give us a call or swing by. Thanks and sorry for the troubles.
They were kind and very reasonable with their prices ! I highly recommend them for your automotive needs.
I was on the internet searching for a new Auto Repair Shop to take my car to when I came across LMC Complete Automotive. After reading a lot of their outstanding reviews I gave their office a call. I spoke with Gary & explained to him that my Battery Service Charge light on the dash started coming on the night before. I needed to take it somewhere that didn’t require an appointment and who wouldn’t have to keep the car for an extended period of time. I explained to Gary that my dealership told me that I needed to replace the throttle body however after we spoke for a couple of minutes he told me that he thought it was the alternator. As I was so pressed for time he told me he would go ahead and order the throttle body & alternator so they would be at the shop when I arrived.
I took the car in later that day & the diagnostic test revealed the alternator was bad. In addition, he notified me that the throttle body was extremely filthy & in order to save me some time and money they were going to do a thorough cleaning on the throttle body for now.
In addition since they completed the repair and cleaning so fast I went ahead and had them do an oil change as well. 2 1/2hrs later I was leaving the shop and my car was running like a champ.
I will be taking my car here from now on. I just can’t say enough about this place, theses guys are absolutely wonderful!!!
